So. I wanted to do a mini episode. And the reason I wanted to do a mini episode is because it's international women's day. And a bit of me for, I don't know how I feel about this.'cause then is this. I don't know. What are you. Discounting those who this isn't a. Day four. And then I fought. No. It is a big deal. It's a big deal for all those women who. For, for us to. Get to where we are now. And I didn't know what to do. I spoke to some of the previous guests to ask them well, The statement to them. I thought, what did it mean to me? One of my colleagues got nominated for international women's day and she did this statement. And I read it and I thought, do you know what. I really love that. And I asked her if I could read it out and she said, The spine. It's not a problem. So. Unfortunately, this is just going to be me reading. But these aren't my words. This is what she put forward. Just to recognize that she had been nominated for being inspirational. And the other reason. That. It was important for me to actually honor the day is because. There's places where. God, I feel like I just always mentioned America. There's places. America. Where women are told what they can and cannot do with their body. Phase places in the world where goals. Aren't giving the option to go to school. Where they're penalized for it. Phase countries where. Women are dictated to about what it means. To be a woman to go shopping. Two. Drive. And I feel like these are things, uh, I personally take for growing seeds. And I want to honor this day. I want to, on this day, for those who came before us, And for those who are going to keep on being what's that, whereas trailblazers. I want to honor them. So I'm going to read what my friends wrote. Can't remember if she said I could use her name or I couldn't. So, because I can't remember. I'm just going to make it anonymous. So I'm going to read it. And I apologize in advance that you're just going to. Hear my voice because it will just, it is just me. She was awesome questions. So I'll read the questions and then I'll read her responses. How do you feel about being nominated? I'm very proud to be nominated as an inspirational woman. Being in this business, I'm surrounded by strong impactful, and of course, inspirational women. For someone to be impacted in a positive way by my actions is truly heartwarming. I'm very grateful to whomever nominated me. What does international women's day mean to you? It's only been the last couple of years that I've really thought about this. Or is it the it's only been the last couple of years, we have really spoken about it. You have to go back in history. And do you see. How far being a woman has come. Today's of not being allowed to vote. To being seen as secondary to men. The gender pay gaps. And the me too movement. International women's day to me is celebrating the way. We are scene has evolved. I look around and I see more women standing up. More women's voices being heard. Uh, more equality for women across the board. Uh, copy examples for me. Of women's evolution. I was follows. I will take sports as a predominantly male dominated environment, as my example. I'm a keen football fan. And have like most women herds. The. Who watches women's football comments. Last year, I was one of nearly 77,000 fans at Wembley stadium. To watch the lionesses take on that? The us women's national team. Let's look at the fines for the Norwegian beach handball team. Find for wearing shorts instead of bikini bottoms. Going back a couple of years. They wouldn't have stood up and now they are international woman's day for me is empowering. It's a message. We're here and we won't settle for less than we deserve. I'm very lucky to have some amazing women in my life. Both personally and professionally. What change would you like to see for women in the workplace? When I first started at the organization where I work. I was very shocked to meet my, at the times. I right, sir. She was a female. Only a couple of years older than me. In my whole professional career. I have never come across a female director in my role. What's an inspiration. This was seeing someone like myself regarding gender and age. Made the possibility of achieving this rail. If you can see it, you can achieve it. And as such, I would like to see more women in high profile roles. I would also like to see more openness for women. We talk about ourselves, we share our struggles, our fights. Our demons. But do our male colleagues know about our battles. And if they did, how could they support. I'm extremely lucky to have a male colleague. Who I could be completely open with and who themselves champions women's rights he truly was. And even though he's now left the organization, he still is. One of my biggest cheerleaders and supporters. What advice would you give yourself? I think the main point would be never apologize for being you. Your thoughts and feelings count. They matter. Don't waste your time and energy, trying to be someone you are not. Be who you are and be unapologetic about it. Stand up for what's right. And be a voice for those who don't. Or can't have one. Be the best version of yourself. I have the hard conversations. And have faith and believe in who you are and what you do. You just have the best don't settle for anything less. The world's not always going to treat you right or fair. But don't be afraid of that glass feeling stand tall and smash right through it. You've got this. And that's what she wrote. And those are her words. And. To me, I feel like she's inspirational just in the words that she wrote. And I wanted to share it. And. Oh, my God. I'm so emotional, but. I don't know, it made me emotional. I feel like anyone who's listened to some of my episodes where I love to. Intercept with my comments knows that. Aye. Feel very privileged to be. A year. Minority. I feel like. I don't know if this is true and if this is just me, but being. A minority. Means that I'm more aware of what goes on in the world. When there's a positive development, it impacts me more.
